You guys rock! Thanks for the spa package. I am ready for that massage. Hospital chairs are really bad for your back.

Kevin’s mom and sister left today so now it’s just me. Kevin and I will have to have that talk about expectations soon. Yesterday he was depressed after the visiting nurse came to show him how to change his ostomy bag by himself. Physically he’s doing much better although often feels uncomfortable. His lunch didn’t sit well in his stomach yesterday. It felt like it wasn’t going down properly, and he had the urge to go to the bathroom even though he didn’t need to. During dinner his ostomy bag started farting! I don’t think he can control it. It’s kinda funny but poor guy =( On Monday I take him to see the surgeon for a follow-up and to remove his stitches.

Haven’t done much work in 2 days. Working at super speed Sunday through Wednesday burnt me out. I’ll have to come in this weekend. But it’s all good—I’m designing a new payment system for the treatment of dialysis patients! Our client will take it to the hill next year.

My end-of-the-year lunch went fine but I didn’t sell myself as much as I would have liked. She seemed to want to focus the discussion on what worked and didn’t work, which is fine because i have a LOT to say on that. But I think i’m goign to approach her again and ask her what it takes to get to the next level and tell her how i think i’ve already reached it. I want a promotion dammit! Even if it’s just on paper and doesn’t change anything. It’s been 2.5 years! Just put “Senior” in front of “Associate” or something! The company is expanding to another floor. By May we will have both the 12 and 9th floors of the building. Which makes it even more important for me to understand how I fit into this company and decided whether I should stay or go.

sounds like it might be time for a really candid conversation with the mgmt before year’s end about what you think ti takes to be at the next level, how you are there, how you have been operating at that level for X months now, etc. just remember what you’re worth! that’s what my friend always told me.
