Volunteering at Boo at the Zoo on Saturday. Kevin suggested I volunteer in the pediatric oncology ward at the hospital. I don’t think so. I’ve had enough cancer and hospital for one week.

Kevin, his parents, and I have been talking about how lucky Kevin is to have a supportive firm and health insurance. Makes me wonder what it’s like for other cancer patients and whether there are any organizations that address issues of access for cancer patients. There’s a mosaic elephant outside of the Lombardi Cancer Center in Georgetown with all these wishes from pediatric cancer patients. One of them is “I wish I had an insurance fairy.”

Maybe when Kevin is done with his chemo and I have more time I will look into these organizations. It’s kinda related to my current job—health care financing etc.

This blog is going to be dangerous. I may not get any work done =)
